Quick question...

Doing some visits to the States (NYC and Miami) for some conferences. Booked flights thru Expedia, Coach cattle class/restrictive tickets. Found out a itinery change meaning I need to change the time for one internal flight from NYC to Miami. Rang Expedia, the ever so friendly (NOT) bloke on the other side went thru penalty charges etc. Quick price check shows it would be cheaper and easier to do a NO SHOW on the prebooked flight and book a completely new flight.

$64k dollar question, are there any implications of a NO SHOW and will they think I'm a terrorist for doing this?

Cheers!

Nope, happens all the time. In fact airlines always over book taking into acoount a certain number of no shows.

No show isn't a problem if the flight was booked on it's own. But if it is one of a series booked together you can find the others get cancelled.

Just wear that "dont freak Im Sikh" t-shirt and make sure you dont travel with me...You' ll be fine.

Which courses are you doing? Aesthetic Advantage?

Seems a strange question. Clearly, the OP does not appreciate how many no-shows there are on US domestic flights - every day. This is why airlines over-sell by up to 10% - and suffer the consequences when everyone shows up. They are expecting 10% to no-show.
OK - some could, feasibly be terrorists, but probably more likely be missed connections, over-running meetings, traffic and lazy gits who can't get out of bed in time (like me).

as above...no show not a problem - I miss flights fairly regularly frown

But they invariably will cancel any later flights on the same booking so you will have to contact the airline and confirm you want to fly on the 'next' flight if there is one.

LOL I shall dust that one off mate!

Just wrapping up Level 3 with Larry in NYC then down South for Pankey. Then you will have the blessing of my company in Jan 09 for the Inman! Hurrah for CPD! Because of the AA, I'm going to have to miss BACD this year which is a bit rubbish, but shall see you in Jan anyway. Shall keep an eye out for the new GTR!

Trust me, have felt this first hand! Was travelling from Indianapolis via Chicago to Heathrow. Indy to Chicago overbooked, next flight made me miss the last flight to Heathrow so had to hang around for 8hrs+ for next one! Bliss!

I've done it before, no problems. If it's a nonrefundable fare you basically threw your money in the bin.
