Hope this does not break any rules and apologies if it does, but I have listed this item on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

It was given to me by Grandma via a Daily Mail offer, but it is not to my taste and takes up room in my flat.

Now I know nothing about crockery but I do know Royal Doulton is collectable. I am now worried that I have wanged it on Ebay but that if I hold onto it, it could be worth a lot more in the future.

Anyone got any ideas whether this might be the case?

No more value than the normal. TBH, a lot of the "exclusive" give away stuff the press give away is old stock, that they can't shift, so they give it an exclusive look to clear it.
Ebay will give you what it is worth now. I would take it and run. It will never retire you!

What was curious is that a company in the same business park as me used to sell this kind of stuff. When head office closed them down, they had to smash unsold stock! It was like a Greek celebration next door.

Old Doulton is collectable as are their porcelain figures. TBH dinner services are fetching nothing at the moment.

Might be worth hanging onto if you want to impress a lady who you have conned invited for dinner.

Well, up to £10 so far with 5 days to go and quite a few people 'watching'.

Agree with the sentiment - typically these newspaper offers are 'cheap' or 'special offer' for a reason. If I get £30 that will pay for some fully synthetic for the '5!
