Job Question - Since my office move
Discussion
I work in IT, after moving offices after the company was bought out to a very large organisation, we have started the migration to merge into "their" domain. Now being a small company with only a handful of staff i am heading the migration into the new company domain/system. The migration consists of moving all the existing technology over the the new owners of my company, taking away all my responsibility to support the company's infrastructure and handing it over on a plate to the "new owners"
Where do i stand as im effectively doing my self out of the job.
No one seems to be covering my ass as to where i stand and no one has spoken to me about job prospects in the new company.

Were seeking assurance from HR and several managers.
Just wondering were i would stand if i stopped the migration on my company's side due to my jobs uncertainty..
If you did that, you would have shot yourself in the foot!Just wondering were i would stand if i stopped the migration on my company's side due to my jobs uncertainty..
Talk to HR & make them advise you on your position regarding TUPE / redundancy. But, don't just stop working - there are lots of other IT people who could do the same stuff & you would look like berk

We merged into a mothership domain earlier this year. Our domain became a branch in their forest. Is this not the case for you? Or are you being absorbed into one big domain?Where do i stand as im effectively doing my self out of the job.

Are you remote to the mothership? Always a need for on-site IT.
It's a pretty standard thing to converge IT when a company gets bought. Deliberately obstructing that would probably be seen as not carrying out your job as per your job description.
As for your job, read up on TUPE and ask the questions of your bosses. If the new parent company have sufficent resources to not need your role any more, they'll be making you redundant and you go find a job elsewhere. Such is life.

TUPE should apply, and you should be advised about this by the new owners. Keep a record of all contact with them. Mergers/acquisitions are often done to save on staff costs so you might be out of a job but you'll be eligible for redundancy if that was to happen but only if you play ball.
Don't assume the worst though.
