..laser eye surgery Monday.
Been thinking of it for years, finally went for a consultation on a day off.
Apparently suitable, now feeling a bit worried about it all.
Costs a packet too but that's the least of my worries.
Arghhh what have I let myself in for?

I would love to get it done, but I was always too scared frown

You'll be fine, and just think....no more specs, until you need reading glasses

The prices have come right down over the last couple of years.

Optical Express have some blinding deals.

Have you seen this thread?

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Lots of people on here have had it done, and everyone made it back ok!

I admit to having 2nd thoughts when I went into the surgery room, but it's over so quickly that there's really nothing to worry about smile

Yeah, but worth every penny if you're going to be able to fire lasers out of your eyes.

I mean, how cool is that?

One of my ex-colleagues went to our then head office in LA and the people there were astonished that he refused to go to the local shopping mall laser centre and get his eyes done one lunchtime.

Best thing I ever did. -4.75 in one eye, -5.00 in the other, now perfect.

It hurts a bit but you'll be amazed.

I have been having an issue with damaged cornea since July. Basically I have scratched it and it won't heal properly. Moorfields have suggested lasering it, but as there was a 3 month delay I went to see a private consultant.

Much to my surprise he was very relucant to do it, as he says that as I have a lazy eye and they'll be working on my good eye if it goes wrong I'm stuffed!

Now I know he is an excellent consultant, well recommended by lots of people round here, but it does make me thing. If he is not keen to do the laser because its the good eye what is the actual risk! Especially as he would be making money!

There is still a risk, no matter how small. Hes probably bot worried about the money.

Don't do it, it's REALLY dangerous.

My mate did it and flinched and he nearly had the top up his head cut wide open like that thing sylar does in Heroes.

Good luck!

I'm sure it has come on in leap and bounds recently but when I looked into it a few years back, I was surprised how many of the consultants wear glasses.

Best of luck with the op, bring on the 20/20 (the vision, not the nasty drink)

I wouldn't mind this done.

I look like my father when I have my glasses on.

You'll be fine - the girlfriend had it done a year or so ago - she's never looked back, not because she's now blind, but because she's no longer a four eyed freak.

I had it done in one eye about 4 years ago and haven"t looked back hehe No honestly nothing to worry about and the results are amazing.. worse thing for me was my other eye was ok but now I have 20/20 vision in what was my weaker eye before sometimes at the start it was a bit weird.
Mrs BB had both her eyes done a few weeks before me and she wore Glasses and contacts and couldn't believe it... she walked out after it being able to see things almost straight away that she would have needed her glasses/contacts for...Day after perfect 20/20 vision...and shes still with me for some reason...must be for something else hehe

And being a biker you I guess it may have been annoying having bins on under the bucket but hey you get to forget all about that.

Both of us have had no ill effects from it all.

Good luck

BB
