I am currently signed up with Bulldog (now taken over by Pipex) for my phone line and broadband. I have just cancelled my contract and will be going back to BT for the phone line and plan to sign up to O2 broadband as it seem a very good offer at the moment.

The problem is that I cannot sign up with O2 until the BT line is active, therefore I will be left without an internet connection for 10-14 days whislt O2 process my order and connect me.

I have an old dial up modem I can use for temporary dial up but need to know which ISP I can use on a temporary PAYG basis without having to sign up, register, etc.

Can anybody help?

Firenet offer a free dial up (well apart from the local rate charges).

Username: dial
Password: dial

Haven't tried it in ages so no idea if it still works.

You are a brave man signing up for BT broadband. Good luck, you will need it. Also may be worth while on spending some time at you local balti house so you get familiar with the accent from tec support.

I've been with BT for ages and then some. Never had any problems (knock on wood). I used BT dialup a couple of years back and it still worked. I have the information written down somewhere, if that above does not work.

Its comedy going back to dial-up isnt it..??

Do you have a friendly neighbour who could let you hack into/borrow his wireless network until yours is up and running..??

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I don't know what it will be like going back to dial up after having fast broadband for so many years. I think I'll try to see if any of my neighbors will allow me to piggy back on to their wireless connections for a week or two.

By the time you've checked your email it'll be time for bed anyway.

Seriously slow - especially as all websites are designed for broadband these days.
