As I understand it the country of iceland is on the brink of financial ruin.

The Germans have changed course on financial responsability of their large institutions quicker than a dog chasing bunny rabbits.....

Certain 'safe' UK banks have elephants in the corners of boardrooms....

Huge amounts of tax payers money suddenly isnt 'nearly enough'....

Have I missed something?

What next?

Hmmm, 'Peak Oil' has caught my attention recently.

I'm still not sure whether to sit with the doomsayers that predict we will all be leading a medieval liftestyle in 25 years, or stick my head in the sand and pretend it isn't happening.

(Might be a topic worthy of its own thread.)

I think we're going to see the return of Government Information bulletins on the TV.

These will be designed to prepare people to adapt to how the world will be in the near future.

The Information films will start with a showing of all the Mad Max movies.

I'm going off to weld some pointy metal bars to the front of my Discovery right now !

We will start having jingles like Crazy Frog in the charts, and the guy who is the Terminator will become a senior politician in America. It will then time to bring back some tough cops from the past, like Depsey and Makepeace.

Mmmm, Makepeace. She was hot.

Dempsey retired as a cop and went on to narrate 78 episodes of "Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends", according to IMDB.
