At the minute I have two ideas that I like that are a bit different and I can't decide which...

1) Bonfire night, take her to the wheel of Manchester and rent out the VIP pod with champagne etc. Will cost around £200

2) Fly to Amsterdam or Paris for lunch then flight back in the evening, or maybe a 1 night stay in a nice hotel in either. Cost aprox £400 - 500 (note: this doesn't have to be on bonfire night)

Now my budget is set at £500 max (less would be better) I would take her to the lake district and make a weekend of it or something like that however we have a 6 month old son and we can't ask the grandparents to look after him for that long and we wouldn't want to, 1 night away may be possible though.

Any thoughts on how to make those ideas a bit more special or any other ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks

Chris.

£500 will buy several bottles of really good vintage port. If it turns out she doesn't like it, so much the better!

Hot air balloon flight??
A tip would be to make sure you ask her near the end, otherwise that would be one uncomfortable basket if she says no!!
~~(appreciate that doesn't apply in your case)

i'm an old fashioned romantic insert gayer jokes here) but a quality night out followed by a trip to where you first met her to pop the question would be the way i go.
after all the place where you met is THE place it all started, and therefore better than paris.

A nice hot curry, kick her back doors in, then throw the ring on the table and say, " fancy wearing that". Cost £15, look on her face, Priceless.

Just make sure the curry isn't too hot. . .or the second part of the plan could end badly

Nice idea but wanted it to be a little bit different and something she wouldn't expect, also we met at work in Barclays Bank, not exactly the most romantic place in the world wink

In all seriousness, I flew my wife to Venice and proposed on the Rialto Bridge......Goes into daydream.....

Oh yes, you can do it cheaply too nowadays as lots of carriers fly there now.

instead of the lake district.

Go to Portmeirion - about the same distance from Manc as the Lakes.

Book a night in the 'Watch House' if its just the two of you - private patio, views over the estuary... here

heck, you'd probly be able to have a cot put in the room for you.

Or else, just have a candle lit meal either in the Hotel or Castell Deudraeth
