yes my thought as well, just go the week before my birthday not mention it to anyone.

My wife was invited to the 40th birthday party of the husband of a good friend of hers from work. It was in a function room above a pub. His wifes parents turned up and left early, his parents and his brother, about ten of us from his wifes work and about 6 of his friends....

You can do the beach holiday when you're old.

Adventure holiday to prove you're still young.

Caveat: you'll take longer to heal cos you are actually quite old. I'm 40 in 4 years and couldn't give a st; I know a 50 year old who climbs harder and faster, cycles further and runs up mountains quicker and further than me... that makes me feel old... perhaps I should socialise with sloths.

Went out on the town with r lass, and all the wenches from work! was ace, started at 7.30, walked 5 miles home at 2.30am still not pissed, but happy!

Bought my toy! And flew off to New York for a long weekend to hide from everyone. Managed to get great tickets for the Yankees and even managed to get Mrs S to come and watch a whole game of baseball on my actual 40th!

Great weekend and dont care if my crisis is still ongoing...
