Wife has just said " I need to get a fax typed up and e-mailed tonight". Before I could stop myself I laughed. She did not see the funny side, and now my Friday night "treat" is in question. So what would you have done, and how can I restore our Friday night?

I find 'not being on the internet', and 'paying the wife some attention' usually ensures success.

My wife insists on saying she had to leave a message on the "answer phone machine" when she calls my mobile if i don't answer. The message is often will you "tape" blah blah blah on the sky+ for me. Both give me a chuckle.

My girlfriend was looking at some pics of a landscaped garden and says.....

...."oh wow, how do they cut those paving slabs into shapes, with a lathe?"

I just assumed she was typing from a fax onto an email in order to send information from a fax via email. You deserve everything you (don't) get. tongue out

Because you send a fax with a fax machine. If you email it, it's an email message, not a fax message. She is confusing terms between the two technologies. Not particularly funny, not particularly dumb either, understandable mix-up, and not as funny as OP's dependence on wife for passion. Must be newly married. smile

It could be worse:

"It sounds like Obama might win the US election."
"They've found him then?!"
"Errr, he's been in the news for a while now babe, he's running against McCain for the US presidency."
"I'm surprised they're letting him run for president though"
"Why?"
"Well, I thought when they found Obama bin Laden they were going to execute him"

Well no a fax is short for a facsimilie, which means an exact copy.

SO she might not be that dumb, you may just not know what things mean wink

Watching the pompey match last night and the wee irish guy says, "well at least we can guarantee goals, because if they dont score in the 2nd half, we will go to extra time and if they cant manage it then it`ll be penalties.

My lovely OH then says, "it be funny if no one scored at all......"
