Suit jacket and jeans combo, right or just plain wrong?

Ok this morning after being rudely awakend by my sodding alarm, the usual mad dash to get ready ensued, que me running around the room trying to find something to wear, odd socks, cleanest pair of boxers, jeans and then nothing, i couldn't for the life of me find anything else suitable to wear.

So out came a vaguely ironed shirt and a my suit jacket.

I'm not usually one for this look but this morning i had no choice.

Is it acceptable, or will i spend the day looking like a pleb?

But importantly, not a suit jacket and jeans. It has to be simply a dedicated blazer style jacket (can't think of the right word) but not just one half of your suit, if you see what I mean.
