An opportunity for revenge, should I take it?
Discussion
Some years ago we rented a house. When we left we went to considerable trouble to leave the house in good order, clean and tidy, and certainly better than when we moved in. I recall that after we moved all our belongings out we spent two days cleaning, hoovering etc.
After we had left the landlord wrote us a quite unpleasant letter in which she accused us of having left the house in a poor state (I won't go into details as they are really not relevant). Anyway, what it boiled down to was a matter of opinion. The house was old and had not been refurbished for many years. Whether we or previous tenants or the ravages of time were responsible for the house being less than perfect were all a matter of opinion, and our opinion was quite different from that of the landlord.
My wife was quite upset by this nasty letter, but I didn't do anything about it at the time as we didn't know the landlord's address and felt that a forwarded letter wouldn't have the 'we know where you live' factor that adds that 'je ne sais quois' element to a nasty letter.
Recently I found out where these unpleasant people live, and am considering taking the opportunity to write and tell them what I think of them. There is plenty of scope for upsetting them as much as they upset us, maybe moreso.
Should I take this opportunity or should I forget about the whole thing?

The best revenge is living well. Why lower yourself?
You've moved on, continue to enjoy life.
I'm inclined to agree, but thought I had better check first. You've moved on, continue to enjoy life.
Although, having said that, sometimes I think maybe one shouldn't allow people to do bad stuff to others and just get away with it, they might carry on doing bad stuff to other people too.
It similar to how when one finally manages to get past a numpty who is holding up a couple of dozen people on a NSL road by doing an average of 38, when one gives them the finger (having honked first to attract their attention), one is doing that on behalf of everybody concerned, nt just for one's own benefit.
