Use of the suffix "ation"
Discussion
The increasing use of the suffix "ation" in the language of Politics and Business is driving me insane. Can anyone enlighten me as to its correct use?
The most recent new use of this is in the word "contestation" that I read in the press today. What the hell is this supposed to mean?

Perhaps it is you who is uneducated with a poor grasp of the English language. 'Contestation' has existed since 1580 and is a proper word.
Herbage is hardly a neologism either.
