We hired an apartment in an "Aparthotel" just round the corner from Galleries Lafyette / Printemps when we spent a week in Paris this summer.

Nice, modern place, ideally located for shopping (which I guess your missus will want to do lots of). Air-conditioned rooms with your own kitchette, which meant we didn't have to eat out all the time.

Only slight downside was there was no parking, so had to leave the car in Printemps car park (they have a special rate).

I recently stayed in the Hilton Arc d'Triomphe and it was very nice.
Even a basic room is 400 euros though.
