Apparantly solar winds are at a 50 year low: The BBC said:

"Scientists made the assessment after studying 18 years of data from the Ulysses satellite which has sampled the space environment all around our star.

They expect the reduced output to have effects right across the Solar System.

Indeed, one impact is to diminish slightly the influence the Sun has over its local environment which extends billions of kilometres into space."

Any views on how this might affect global climate? I know the sun has an impact on this because if I stand in direct sunlight for more than an hour or so I get burned.

It will get cooler I expect, though be prepared for the BBC to say the warming has slowed down...

It's actually very simple:

If the weather is hot it's caused by climate change so taxes must go up or we'll all die.

If the weather is cold it's caused by climate change so taxes must go up or we'll all die.

Heads you lose, tails they win.

There have been lots of posts in various climate threads about this, the solar behaviour is like that seen in the Dalton Minimum. It was predicted long ago empirically using Gleissberg Cycle data and theoretically using solar torque. This puts such climate forcings way ahead of the IPCC and their models of tax gas forcing which couldn't even predict their own failures.

Try having a search on PH if the search function is working, or Google on Dalton Minimum, also on Solar Cycle 24 (and Solar Cycle 25), and if you're feeling particularly keen try the search terms 'solar conveyor belt' and 'stunted polar fields' and then finally 'as it will be getting bl00dy cold around here after nearly 10 years of global cooling already where can I buy Damart'.
