I need to be at Heathrow for 8am tomorrow. Coming from J26 of the M25....

Is it really busy along that strech at that time?

Any ideas on when I should leave? Not done the M25 in rush hour for a while....

TIA

I did pretty much this trip on the way back from Luton to Southampton in the rush hour a couple of weeks ago. I'd allow at least three hours. It might only take you an hour and a half but then it might not...

Hmmm, judging by the comments above you might be best to head to a different airport and fly to heathrow.

3 hours sounds about right, it'll probably only take you 2 maximum, but there is always the chance of stuff screwing up.

I used to do almost that journey very frequently (J25 - Heathrow) but I'd never have attempted it at rush-hour, the occasions my wife had to get there around rush-hour, she'd leave at 6:00 and arrive at 7:00 and fill in the time. Leave at 6:10 and she'd arrive at gone 9.

Work on the assumption that at about 7:30 the M25 will just stop completely.

I'd aim to get to the airport by 7 and your journey should be comparatively smooth
