...he wheels out Prezza to support him:

I thought we'd seen the back of that irritating hypocrite!

Personally, whenever I hear the phrase "xxx has my full support" or "xxx has the full backing of the party" - I always wonder whether I should head down to the bookies and place a bet as to how soon they're on their way out.

Or is it just me that thinks that?

I cannot believe that even Gordon is that deluded. Maybe some worthless hack at the BBC was?

Prescott seems to be ugly and unpleasant to the bone. Yuk.

Right up there with "Dont worry- your jobs are safe...". If I were Gord, I'd have a hitsquad out for everyone who publicly expressed support for me.

Actually I've got time for Prescott. I am at the opposite end of the political spectrum but anyone who tts journos for a laugh has to have something about him. He has always struck me as having his heart in the job - even if he's not that great at it.

Anyway - yes "full support" usually means "firing squad." yes

But probably not in this instance. Labour should want Gordo to stay. They're fked anyway - why poison any more of your talent in the eyes of the electorate.

Where is this 'talent' to whom you refer?

Good point. Well made. I tried to think and couldn't come up with any.

To me, the only reason the party is backing him is that they dont want to be the one that lost the General Election by such a landslide. Those that are walking out are the ones who'll never lead anything or do much of any importance, so they're off to find a new way of making easy money
