I have been working for Temp agencies for over 3years. I have been temping for the last two years with two different agencies at FedEx.

My last assignment they (FedEx) paid me for a Holiday. I did not qualify fo rit through my agency but they offered it and i accepted.

At this assignment I have not been paid for July 4th or Labor day.

I just got a copy of my agency's Holiday pay policy and though I don't qualify for there Holiday pay on this assignment it is at FedEx's discretion (my manager)to offer it to me and my agency will honor it and pay me.

My agency also informed me that they sent the memo two weeks before the Holiday making all FedEx managers aware and they received no response from my manager.

How should I ask?

Ask in a firm tone of voice first.

Then if you don't get any response, repeat the request in an even firmer tone, but add the words "or else" on the end.

Be well.

You joined a motoring forum to ask that?

Your nick suggests that that's your only interest in life.

you could do with a more legal-y forum to ask on, and one that knows US employment law, cos at the moment, you have just wandered into the equivalent of a downmarket bar

on the bright side, bars solve many problems

Asking for holiday pay is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You've got to do it at the right time, once this moment has arrived, pounce upon them and thrust in your request.

Labor Day - that's a day that no-one does any work, am I right? At least we call ours bank holidays!

I'm self-employed. Nobody pays me to go on holiday. Nobody gives me money if I'm off sick. If I do nothing, I earn nothing. £0.00pw.

So this 'holiday pay' of which you speak - you want to be paid to go and enjoy yourself whilst doing no work for your employer. Hmm.

What's special about July 4th then? Is that the day they celebrate British History?

(Making the huge assumption that the OP is female).

Get up extra early in the morning and spend a little more time than usual in the shower, paying extra attention 'down below'. Ensure that your legs, armpits and ladybits are smooth and waxed. Wear a subtle, musky perfume some stylish but provocative underwear, sheer hold-ups, two-piece suit with pencil skirt, shiny black stilettoes. Hair up in a french bun with chopsticks pushed through it, black framed, oblong lensed glasses. Sidle up to my his desk, lean forward and in your huskiest voice ask if there's anything you can do for me. Before I he can answer walk around to my his side of the desk. Sit down on the desk, legs apart, place your feet on the arms of the chair. Grab a handful of hair, pull him face down into your crotch purring "You're not coming up until I've come" and hold him there as you rock gently back and forth.

That might work.

In fact, how much do you need?

PS. Pictures by PM or I'm not giving you any more help.

Let's look at the facts. She's illiterate and from Tennessee. Keep building that mental picture.....

I'm seeing a trailer park, a Dunkin' Donuts franchise....

No, its the day that the chimps had a tea party in Boston and tipped all of the boxes of the letter 'U' into the sea, never to be seen again.
