I'm helping me folks clear some stuff out the shed at the back of the garage and a Robin flew onto a post and just sat there, singing away, you could have reached up and touched it!
I went back to the house to get my camera and some seed for the little fella, came back and it was still there just tweeting at me dad. I gave me dad some seed I said hold your hand out don't make any sudden movements and see what happens.
I know Robins can be tamed but we have never seen this one before close up.
The pics were re-sized in PS as they were 3MB files auto adjust/ contrast etc.. They are genuine pics, really amazing thing to see

We had a Robin in our old garden that was ludicrously friendly. Whenever I used the fork to dig over the beds I'd have to watch out I didn't prong him as he'd be darting in and out chowing down on the tasty treats I was uncovering...
He'd sit on the fence next to people.
He never quite became annoying by landing on the garden table because we were careful NOT to feed him on it. They're lovely things but it pays not to get Toooooo friendly!

Not uncommon for Robins to do this. They are plucky little things
We had one in our garden a while back that would let us hand feed him/her worms.
Just ordered some worms as it was about in the garden the other day, they make so much noise tooWe had one in our garden a while back that would let us hand feed him/her worms.

Not like the "olden days", when a trowel and bit of effort dug them up for free!

I have read that the reason they come close isn't being friendly, it's showing you that you're their territory and putting you in your place!
That would be when they peck you eyes out. Male robins are very territorial and have severe fights. In this case they're simply close because you're a food supply.Simpo Two said:

h on account of the fact that you are feeding it. You can buy worms? Blimey. Even when I used to go fishing you couldn't get worms in the shop. You got a fork and laid waste to a bit of soil for 10 minutes. That, or maggots, which you could buy because they're a little harder to come by in the great outdoors.
People actually buy worms to put in their compost heap?
Really?
You'd think the whole of Britain had been paved over...
