Help, please.

I'm due to fly off to Greece on Saturday for two weeks all-inclusive sunshine with my girlfriend. Buuuuut, after a 'we need to talk' episode last night, we're no longer in a position to spend a fortnight together.
frown

Clearly the disintegrated relationship is the main issue here, but a £1400 hole in my bank account is another, and I don't fancy going on my own. So, has anyone else here had a similar issue and successfully applied for reimbursement / sold on ebay / claimed on insurance citing a rare medical condition that precludes flying?

Take the holiday, take someone to quote PH "Who's back door you want to knock in" or if your female who wants to knocks yours in.

Have a bloody good time.

1) You must have got ripped off to spend £700 on going to Greece.
2) Are you suggesting Insurance fraud?
3) I doubt you will be able to cancel, you may be able to do a name change and take a mate/go on your own or sell it on.

Go on your own, you'll be hanging out the back of some slapper by the time you get to your hotel.

Zen.

Sell it on to someone else, you will have to pay for a name change, but this close you are into 100% cancellation charges.

Why?

Is all of Greece the same? Should all holidays to anywhere in any hotel in all of Greece cost less than £700?

Read the T&Cs on your booking, there will be a clauses about cancellations. You may get some of the money back if you do cancel.

Actually, I have just noticed it's 2 weeks, so it's not too bad I guess.

Take Jenney AB's flatmate. You are guaranteed a good time and he gets some peace while packing up his belongings.

Failing that surely you have a mate who could go at short notice.

It must be something about Greece.
I spent a honeymoon in Greece without the other half after cancelling the wedding. Had a fantastic time.
And a mate went with his GF and had a split on day one. They both then had a great time shagging other people.

Definately go. Even if you go alone! But better still find a mate and just get him to pay for the name change.

You will have trouble deciding whos sleeping in the double bed though....Unless you make a major lifestyle decision.

Why not just go on your own, may as well get your moneys worth, or take a mate.

i was going to do that so i phoned up and explained the situation - the guy on the phone was great but said sorry you cant change the name... he suggested i just bought a new flight for my mate and a new hotel room....

Looking back that is exactly what i should have done. wish i had now. oh well.

New hotel room?

Surely he could have just flown there, and stayed in your room?
