I think he was referring to 4G as in 4th generation, rather than 4Gb.

They are Emma, just a little confused by what you have actually bought, a 4th Gen nano, or 4gb nano

Apple shop is your best bet for a quick resolution, if you can wait a few weeks/months, there will be more around
