Before we start, she's a female, she's 19, she's 'cute' if you like the slightly overweight, pretty face types. BUT she's from Warrington and she's rough.

OK, so I'm living in the city during the week, home at the weekend. It's a little new-build apartment, 2 bed, 5 min walk to work. Rent is £850pcm - I pay 450 for the large room with en-suite, flat mate pays £400 for smaller room and has sole use of the large bathroom. I have the underground parking space as she has no car.

On seperate tenancies to the landlord.

Been living with her now for 4 weeks. It was fairly painless to begin with, i am happy with my room, somewhere to escape and i work 8-6ish Mon-Fri, head home Fri night and come back Sun night.

She works mostly evenings in a bar, say 6pm - 2pm, probably 5 nights a week. Generally she gets in at 3/4am and generally has someone with her, last few times it has been different lads, they laugh, joke, giggle, bang around and wake me up/keep me awake.

She usually goes to bed about 6am, even on her days off - she claims we have different hours, her working nights etc. She sleeps 6am til about 4pm. When she said this, i said you DO NOT work nights, you do a bar job of an evening, it doesnt stop you keeping normal hours e.g. sleeping 2/3am until 10/11am and being awake/seeing your friends in the day time.

Why does she need to have them in the flat until 6am and then go to bed???

She has made the living room into her own, Disney throws/cushions and a horrible chocolate candle meaning that the living room stinks like a chocolate fudge cake all the time. She has moved her video rack in full of friends videos - we don't even have a video player! All this from quite a small living room.

At the start, we shared, we both drink a lot of Cranberry juice for example, so when we're out we buy it. She seems to drink a shed load of wine, a bottle+ a night - the other night we went out to Asda, she had forgotten her wallet, i bought some wine, a bottle of something she wanted and some food. It came to about £40 - she said she would give me half, never did.

I bought some ear plugs, i thought it was much easier than complaining at first, see how it went, it went quite well. Good night sleep, quiet etc.

Last night, it all kicked off.

I just asked her how she was sleeping, considering the traffic outside and how it must be worse when she is in bed during the day. She said it's fine "it's your snoring that kept me awake!" - I said oh right, when was this and does it happen often? She said no, just last night, about 6:30 - sounds about right, i have recently sprained my ankle and had to keep it raised therefore sleeping on my back. I say "sounds about right that, considering from 2:45 up until 6:15 i was wide awake with you laughing, giggling and banging around!".

Well, then it all comes out, I forgot to lock the door when i went to bed, even though she was the last one in and was still up when i went.

I don't go shopping enough - even though i dont eat breakfast, I'm at work during the day, and eat things like my frozen lasagne/chili i have made at home during the weekend and frozen on the sunday evening. I point out that I have bought well over 12 cartons of cranberry since moving in and probably drank less than half - at this point it is getting petty.

I have a thing about leaving stuff on standby, she does it all the time, tv/dvd/freeview/surround sound - we are both paying the elec bill even though im hardly ever there. So i asked her a while back not to do it, did she stop? No. So i started turning it all off at the wall when i noticed it was on standby. She said stop doing it, as it breaks the TV, i said well stop leaving it on standby. She said its her TV, she bought it and she will do what she likes.

Then, getting even more petty, she notices I am using one of her pint glasses, "that's mine, dont use it - how about we just have our own stuff, you can have 1 shelf in the fridge as you're never here, and I'm having 2". At this point, i said suit yourself, and laughed as i walked off.

Well this morning, i woke up and all her stuff and mine is seperated, she has taken her little bean bag i usually put my feet on and moved it to 'her side' of the room. She has taken all her candles and put them on her side and on 'her table' leaving mine with nothing but wax marks all over it.

So i took my freeview box, dvd player, surround sound, 2x scart cables and the aerial coax cable i bought when i moved in and put them in my room. If she's going to be pathetic then so am I - at least until I can find someone to take my lease. I can't spend another 5 months with her.

If you have got to the end of the story then well done, here's the question. Can i just assign my lease over to someone? Would i then ask them for the deposit I have paid and they would take over the standing order etc? I would need to contact my landlord and they would need to sign a new AST?

Advice on where to take it from here much appreciated. I can't live with the noise, chav visitors and pettiness of this 19yr old slapper.

I don't know about anyone else but I sort of wondered which 'city' for £850pcm and then lost interest.

Take it up with the landlord. If she is causing a disturbance in the middle of the night, it is not acceptable.

Give her one up the chuff.

At least then she'll have something to complain about.

Who are you to tell her she basically has to come straight in from work and go to sleep?

You must have known what she worked as when you started the agreement?

Agreed, things have got petty, but it sounds like both sides have contributed to it.

Seperate bathrooms.

On a serious note, what do I do about assigning the lease?

Do i just look on spareroom.co.uk/gumtree for people looking?

I would advise you grow up, accept it takes two to tango, you appear to have brought half the problem to the table with your share of issues i.e. stuff on standby etc

If she ows you cash, why not ask her for it ?

This situation can be sorted out quite easily if you just suggest you both sit down, in a reasonable manner ask for her issues with you and give her yours then come to some simple rules to stick to.

Frankly if you are moaning about her banging all night, do some of that banging yourself hehe

Get over yourelf and sort it out. Cant see the problem myself other than a lack of understanding between you both.
