Managed to drop a 10kg grinding wheel from 2ft onto my foot over an hour ago. Wearing steel toe caps but as sod's law goes it landed in between cap and laces. Swelling and throbbing from the start but now foot starting to throb quiet badly. Due to my current location a short trip to A&E is out of the question. I would imagine I am going to have to speak to the medic in the morning when he gets up but the paperwork this will cause is already giving me a headache.

As I have never experienced any broken bones I take it I would certainly know if I broke anything in my foot or are these things on the end of my legs helping me walk pretty hardy beggars?

From past experiance its prety easy to break bones in feet, but you can usually still maintain some semblance of a walking action.

There are a hell of a lot of bones to break in yer plates too ... sure someone more lerned will be along shortly...

If you have done something your foot will probably be a fantastic combination of black, yellow and purple in the morning. If it is, this will signify that the grinding wheel won!!

May have to change your username from Stang to Hop-along for a while wink

Hope its not too bad though!!

Aaaahhh bugger. frown

Oh well it is starting to go a shade of blue so far roll on the morning and attempting to explain it to the adults upstairs in the office's. Had a wee feel about (on my foot) which in hindsight was probably not the best thing to do.

Just one of those things, you were wearing toe 'tectors but they can't be 100% armor plated....

Guess it will bugger thier "safety statistics" though!! at least the grinding wheel wasnt attached to the grinder bit and plugged in ... and on yikes

although thinking about it ... your foot would be feeling no pain in that circumstance

its ok youve got a spare,
hope you didnt break the grinder there bloody useful bits of kit
seriously though if you can walk on it and you put ice on it let the swelling go down you may find its only fractured at worst so dont worry, if you cant walk get it Xrayed
