Help for depression
Discussion
Before.I remember other people have this problem and say about it here and many people give them advice.
I feel very bad for while now and first I think maybe it was just because I am home sick but I have been back for while now and I do not feel different.
At moment I feel like I never want to get out from bed or do any thing.I feel very bad but it is dificult for me to talk to any one about how I feel and it is even more dificult for me to talk to my parents because I do not want to make them worried.
Is there any way to make good change?

Go to your local doctor's surgery. You can get lots of good advice, plus antidepressant tablets (take around 3 weeks to work)
Also get out into the fresh air, get exercise and sunlight. Sunlight is very good - try a sunlight lamp or vitamin D3 supplemets if necessary.
Cut down or avoid alcohol and caffeine, also any illegal drugs. Cut down on sugary food, eat more protein and omega 3 fats (think flax meal and oily fish like mackerel and salmon) Eat regular meals. Make sure you get enough vitamins, as deficiency can cause/aggravate depression.
Get counselling, or other social support. MIND ( http://www.mind.org.uk ) are good for this. There are many branches nationally and their services are free.

I hope my reply didn't seem like I was taking the piss, because I wasn't. I really do believe those are the two best cures for depression....and I've had a lot of experience of people suffering from depression - probably a lot more than 99% of people. You could go see your doctor who will prescribe treatment, but really there is no substitute for excercise. Personally I think that prescribed drugs should be the last possible option.

Go to your GP but IMO (and based upon experience) don`t bother with the pills.[/footnote]
Excercise too. A must along with being sensible with alcohol.
My opinion on anti-depressants is based on only personal and not medical experience/opinion
I thought you went back home? What happened?
Depression sis very common, and very complex. I would avoid drugs and try to understand why you feel down. Fresh air, the company of friends, or sometimes even strangers can help. Set yourself some targets, however simple, so that each day you have something to do. Staying in bed is a bad idea - and you know that.
Or maybe just spend all your day and night on PH, there's enough on here to make you laugh...

Good grief man, do you always recommend hard drugs every time a person feels a bit down for a while? How about a little conversation, a little councilling, maybe some empathy and understanding before she starts on the mothers-little-helpers?No wonder we're a country of paranoid, hypochondriac, antibiotic resistant blouses.
Well, you need to be honest with yourself before you can find the answers as to the cause. I'll go out on a limb here and suggest it might be because you've split up with someone recently or had some recent trauma? If thats the case, then (as cliched as it sounds) time is a great healer - its true.
If thats not the case then I don't know.....but either way, being proactive, getting up and about, doing something with your life, getting regular excersise can't hurt. Can it? Try that. Try it seriously. Put some effort into it. If it doesn't help, then go see your doctor.

I did go home but I feel very un happy still. I do not know what make me feel this way and it just make it worse because I become frustrated at my self.
OK, why are you frustrated? What would you like to be doing with your life?I think the hardest part is to know what you want.
What could you do, tomorrow, to start becoming who you want to be?
Staying in bed won't help you get there, maybe there's something simple you can do to start changing your life?
Are there people around you who belive in you? Who will help you to become happy? Maybe friends or relatives who will make you feel positive?
Or, as I said, read PH and laugh at the crazy people?
Exercise, eat healthy meals, lots of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water. Try and cut out the bad things (booze, smokes and anything else you may indulge in).
Ensure that your body is getting all the vitimins and minerals it needs to function well.
Get out and about, take walks, get plenty of fresh air and natural light.
If you still feel the same after this talk to parents/friends or anyone you can confide in and then consult your GP.
Depression is not always about you being depressed. It can be caused by a chemical imbalance.
I suffered for a long time with panic atacks and what I believed to be depression (although I had absolutely nothing to be depressed or panicky about).
The pills worked for me.
PS I still drink like a fish, smoke like a chimney and eat just about everything bad for me.

I feel frustrated because I do not know what to do with my life and I really want I think right word is direction and to focus on things.
I feel very bad also because I feel envy for my friends that know what they want to do and I just do not know and it make me feel very sad.
I am not sad about break up that I have, it was long time ago now and I am ok about that.

Drugs have a place in endogenous depressions.
Cognitive behavioural Therapy has a lot of good evidence behind it. Have a go at www.livinglifetothefull.co.uk.
Most counselling is self-indulgent crap.
Agree with the exercise and talk to friends and family. Look at stressors in your life. Get work/leisure/sleep in balance.

I hate to piss on your parade, but...I have refractory depression and I walk the dog every morning for 45 minutes, go to the gym 3 times a week and play football once a week. has it made me any better? No.
Unfortunately (in my experience) depression is different for each and every sufferer. For some of us, exercise can be an effective antidote, for others it is the last thing that helps.
A friend who has depression may act erratically or irrationally. Usually (again IME) this needs to be accepted, not constrained, but watched over to ensure they aren't harming themselves (well, any more than getting very drunk, for example).
Good luck...
