Ok, so I've got an interview this afternoon for a long term temp job to cover maternity cover, which is all fine and dandy.

The problem arises in the fact that the role is in a green/environmentally friendly regeneration company. Does anyone think my love of V8's, old cars and the fact that I don't believe in MMGW affect my chances of the job?

No. Not unless you'll have a problem with working in that environment yourself.

Good luck thumbup

Will you be paid 33% more than the person on leave?

It shouldnt - why would you mention those things at the interview anyway? They exist to make money first (I imagine) as very few companies exist for purely non-financial gains - so as long as you can add to that you'll be fine.

Whether you can put up with a constant stream of environmental bks is another thing!

Don't tell them and then bring the whole stinking organisation down from the inside smile

My advice is to turn up for the interview dressed like a hippy with cycling clips round your ankles, chewing grass and wearing a woolen floppy hat.

You'll be a shoe-in

Nothing wrong with conserving resources (more oil to use in a V8 wink) and old cars are more environmentally friendly than buying a new one anyway.

I wouldn't mention that it's all rubbish until after you have the job and have realised the company directors have spotted a good way for a quick profit from gullible punters.

Apparently the MD, who if I get the job I'll be PA to, started the company himself and is very very greenified.

And in every interview I've attended I've been asked what I think about the company policies and what I enjoy doing outside of work.

Make sure you don't wash for a few days before the interview, so you have a good, natural smell. Use the word 'sustainable' a lot.

Just throw in that you enjoy cycling. That'll do it. Unless of course they invite you to join them in a communal cycle ride or something. In which case you're buggered
