Can't you just apply a bit of common sense when interpreting stories like this? I mean... as if.

I don't think I am the one who needs to apply common sense in this situation, do you?

Is it???

A couple of years ago I thought it was a piss-take when I was told you would need planning permission to replace a pation - sadly it was no joke and you now do......

Do you not think that maybe (just maybe) sensationalist reporting helps get these ridiculous measures watered down?

A patio? Are you sure? A quick google seems to suggest otherwise... http://www.tameside.gov.uk/planning/faqs#patio

It's possible but much more likely imo that a tiny part of the paper has been reported and the rest, which may well put it in to context, ignored. Also the paper is presumably now subject to peer review and it's more likely that the extremes of it will be removed as part of that process rather than as a result of this report. The problem for me is that this absurd report may well affect someone's vote... although admitedly if someone is that stupid they might find it tricky to use a pen.

None, they're all in the business of making money althought the express, mail, sun, etc do seem to be somewhat worse at this kind of scaremongering nonsense... imo, of course.

The main bit of the FT is now the only paper I read....it seems to be the best one out there. I used to read the Times but even that isn't that great anymore....

I agree with Labour. My bloody lawn just lays there chilling out, mocking me as I go to work everyday slaving away for 'the man'.

Talking to a paver recently this is something that they are trying to push through though isn't there yet. It's because of the amount of people putting hard standings in for off road parking which reduces draining areas. Replacements have to have particular paving that is free draining.

That doesn't sound too unreasonable though.

No it doesn't, though as with all things governmental, how it sounds and how it ends up are likely to be very, very different!

Course there is also the cost implication and availability of free draining hard standing. (not to mention the cost for applying, cost for BC to check it etc etc etc)

It seems that the government has hired 8- 10 year old children to spy on the public and report any misdeads to the fuhrer. They even have code names ffs.

What a mental country.
