Sick to death of Barclays and thier incompetence.
I fancy changing but have the "they're all as bad as each other" slogan in my head.
Is there anyone with a premier account who would actually recommend it?

Hmmmm. My colleague says as much. But then he will simply adopt a whiney voice and accuse me of copying him if I take his advice.
A few will guess who he is.

Being able to phone up and speak to an intelligent person without holding is foremost on my list.

Thats pretty much it aside from the general competence of the bank itsself.

Clydesdale on Wood St if you want to speak to a personal manager rather than an institution. PM me if you want his e-mail

I honestly think HSBC will do you proud. I never have to wait longer than 1-2 mins to speak to someone and even if you don't want to call the call centre, you will have your own personal banker who you can call (direct). Also, apparently they have a policy (don't know if its still there) where they will credit your account with £10 every time they make a mistake! Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to prove it!

Indeed. You also get treated well in the banks and even better when going into foreign branches. You get ushered into nice air conditioned rooms past all the queues to speak to someone in English. Free travel insurance for you and your family. Preferential savings, loan and CC rates.

Just tell your mate that you ignored his advice, but took the Internet's instead! wink

I got way beyond the end of my tether with Barclays Premier about a year ago and switched to Coutts. My Barclays manager doesn't appear to have noticed yet.

I have Barclays Premier, they upgraded my account about 4 years ago for free. I can't really say it is of any benefit to me really.
