Sorry if a repost but couldn't see it.

Bloody feckless authorities in this fked up country. Single druggy, 1 bed flat, claiming child benefit for 36 children and no body questioned until he had claimed £80,000 of tax payers cash.

Feckwitts all of them

I got accused of Council Tax Benefit fraud earlier this year

Interview under caution, the works, £350 for a solicitor for what turned out to be because the council lost a letter that I had sent them.

Eventually they said that while they would not admit to being wrong they would take no further actionfurious

The whole system is fked up!

Scum get away with just about anything and decent folk get shafted!!

I actually thought the child benefit lad was just exploiting a loophole in the system, IMO his crime was no worse than those that allowed it to happen.

Hey, would that be like the loophole where you go out to work, or on holiday and I smash my way into your house and steal everything. You allowed it to happen by leaving your house unattended with just glass windows and a simple 5 lever lock on the wooden door....

Yup, it is theft, of our money too. But, as Chris says, some blame has to reside with the authorities for making it so easy to carry out.
I think the chaps solicitor summed it up rather well when he said 'it's like leaving a child alone in the sweet-shop and expect them not to touch the sweets'.

No it would be the loophole where people charged with administering £millions of our money are only doing a half arsed job.

Can't see why there is child benefit for any but hte first child anyway.

You have one child. If you struggle to make ends meet don't have any more. If you do have more - well, you have to go without Sky, fags and the flat screen tv.

It sounds like common sense mate, but that reply was inspired...

Our spineless Labour Government need to grow a couple of big ones and implement some common sense policy. furious

This country is st and is getting worse by the day.

Uh, no.

The person who commits fraud is the ONLY person who is to blame.

After all, women walk around able to have sex with you, does that mean you should be able to rape them? I mean, they make it too easy for you, what with getting drunk, wearing tight tops etc.. and not wearing chastity belts.

Yes, but we do not reside in a perfect world (unfortunately). 'This why one has locks on doors and windows, and are expected to be used if payment is to be made in the event of a break-in. Banks do not leave money on the counter, asking customers to take what they require, as they know that shouldering of blame has to be shared should the , er, expected happen.
