Its gardens include Mr Dibnah's engine shed, workshops and a recently-developed mine shaft - complete with winding gear .

Dont buy if you have a kangeroo.

I heard second hand that he was a complete wr about his boundaries.

I've also heard that he was just a complete wr.

Pretty decent talent IMO - i couldn't give a stuff if he was an arse or not. Fact remains he was incredibly talented and passionate abaout many things and was a do-er not a pontificator, in this regard.

Found these pages a while back:

http://www.wiganworld.co.uk/fred/index.php?opt=a

Show his mine layout, etc. Hats off to him for having the drive and enthusiasm for something he wanted to get involved with (and share with other people). Given the amount of fat, useless, scroungers this country gives lottery money to - if not government funding - to give some to a bloke who wants to build a mine shaft in his back garden off of his own back and turn it into a museum whereby people can learn something, seems ok if you ask me - check his layout plans, it's not like it was a back of the fag packet project. Sounds like he had at least thought about what he wanted to do! smile

"Ney, ah's just 'avin a mooch round"

Did you know that there's a shop in Leigh that trades as "Mooch Round"?

it's surprising he had any of that gear left in that garden!
