This evening I called an American car accessories company regarding the purchase of a crash helmet. The helmet in question without going into detail is approx £400 here as opposed to £320 dollars there, my FIL is there at the moment so I am trying to get delivery by Thursday so he can bring it back for me as they do not deliver to the UK because UK dealers would not sell one single item if they did. rolleyes

Sweet baby Jesus of Nazereth!

This guy was severely retarded, the conversation went someone like this:

Me: Hi can you tell me if you have in stock item blah blah as I need it delivered to family in Florida by Thursday?

He puts me on hold for 5 mins.

Him: Sorry we don't stock that item.

Me: I am looking at your website right now and I can see it clearly.

Him: What website are you looking at?

Me: Err, your website xxxxxxx with this telephone number at the top.

He puts me on hold for 5 mins.

Him: Oh yes I can see it now.

Me: Would you like me to give you the product number from the website?

Him: No, just direct me to the section you are in.

After guiding him through the sections of the website until he had reached the helmet in question and me reminding him that I needed it the next day, he put me on hold for another 5 mins.

Him: Sir we don't have it in stock but our warehouse in California is showing one and we can deliver it in 5 days.

Me: Excuse me, I have said 3 times I need it for tomorrow so this is obviously not suitable.

Him: Pause

Me: Hello

Him: Yes sir, I'm here.

Me: OK, can you tell me if you have this alternative helmet in stock for delivery tomorrow, size Large gloss black please.

He puts me on hold for 5 mins.

Him: Yes sir we have the size you require, colours black, matt black or white.

Me: The black is a gloss black yes?

Him: No sir it's black.

Me: The helmet comes in gloss black, matt black and white as options on the website, so I take it the black is gloss black am I correct?

He puts me on hold for 5 mins.

Him: Sir, the helmet comes in black, matt black or white.

banghead

Me: Could I speak to a supervisor please?

He puts me on hold for 5 mins.

banghead

Him: Hello sir, the helmet comes in black, matt black and white.

Me: Yes I know but is the black shiny black, gloss black or any other black that shines?

Him: Which one would you like sir?

Me: Gloss black

He puts me on hold for 5 mins.

Him: Yes sir we have that in stock and can deliver tomorrow.

This is an actual conversation that I had tonight and I am worn out, I am on my 4th bottle of stella thinking about a tamazapan! hehe

confused But what's this got to do with 'Yanks' though, apart from the fact they were in the US, I don't see the link? You could quite easily have experienced exactly the same poor service in the UK, so would you then have posted 'Brits - gotta love em'.

Got to agree with you there.

If anything, I've only ever received a consistent high level of service in the states and I can safely say that has never been the case here...clearly that means americans are all super intelligent and the brits are all retards. wink

Well anyway, your conversation with the retard who happened to be American was an amusing one. hehe

I can honestly say i have never ever experienced a phone call with that level of incompetence in my life,I couldn't see many companies here putting up with sales people like that.

With my limited dealings with American companies this seems to be the norm !

Amazing.
