City Break Ideas?
Discussion
I am seriously needing a holiday now. I havent had one this year, and have only had 1 day off work since May. I was planning on going to Australia in February, but i cant really afford it anymore. So what i am thinking of doing is a long weekend break in the next couple of months, then an adventure holiday next year.
What i am after is ideas for a decent city break (4/5 nights), with loads to do (things to see, maybe sports games and gigs too). I am young(ish) and will be on my own if that helps!
Oh and it can be anywhere within say, a 10hr flight, and i would rather it was far away...!
Sorry for the slightly boring thread, but i am stuck for ideas!

get a friend or 2 on board an head to eastern europe [can't see it being as fun on your own]. go for a week-10 days and visit 2-3 cities.
did a trip to latvia, lithuania, and belarus for a week a couple of yrs ago with 5 mates. cracking time and varied with it. riga's ok for a night out if you avoid the brits, vilnius is a beautiful city, and minsk was just pure madness. went to a proper circus, went bobsledding with the latvian olympic team, and generally had a ball, fly to riga and get a coach [£10 return riga-vilnius, £10 for vilnius-minsk]. other than in riga you won't meet another brit, which is refreshing for eastern europe and makes it much more fun on a night out - we ended up in the middle of a hen night in latvia, 50odd women and us 6 blokes

Amsterdam is NOT my kind of place.
Just to give you a quick idea of the kind of thing i am after... I went to Canada (Toronto, Victoria, Vancouver, Whistler) for a few weeks, and NYC for 5days last year (on my own).
Budget is about £1.5k.
Don't see why not, there is more to it than coffee shops and wJust to give you a quick idea of the kind of thing i am after... I went to Canada (Toronto, Victoria, Vancouver, Whistler) for a few weeks, and NYC for 5days last year (on my own).

esMiami. Cool hotels, bars, clubs. very easy to meet people if you're on your own. Keys are a day trip away too. Obviously lots of water sports. Hire a cool classic car etc etc etc.
L.A. Given that L.A. and surrounding area will fill two weeks irrespective of what your interests are it should keep you going for a long w/e! Again very cool hotels etc etc etc.
