Took old kitchen apart, about the only thing my better half wanted to keep was the monobloc tap that was on the sink. It wasn't in the right place for the new sink, so I cut off the rigid tails it was on and fitted isolating valves to the pipes... with the intention of extending these and joinin gto the monobloc by 300mm flexi pipes once the new sink is in.

BUT the tap doesn't have standard size fittings..... and, of course, in an unusual bout of tidiness, I've binned the rigid tails that I took off (they were soldered, short and messy - "won't be needing those again!").

All the monbloc flexis I can find locally or online have 10 or 12mm fittings at the tap end.... the holes in the tap are a little bigger than 12mm tho frown the fitting just slides in a little bit clear with 12mm.

Anyone any idea where I could find anything to fit?

TIA

take the tap and get yourself down to plumb centre, if there is one near you. they had all sorts of odd sizes when i needed them.

edit: i take it you've bought new rigid tails and they don't fit onto the flexi??

afaik, the rigids are non standard sizes going into the monoblock, but the ends should come in a variety of BS sizes.

No, I've not bought anything as the holes in the bottom of the tap are too big for the 12mm connectors to screw into, and I can't find anything bigger, rigid or flexi.

hmm, i can only find 10 or 12mm too.

still i'd take the tap to a decent plumber's merchants and see if they can help. otherwise its new tap time smile

The threads vary enormously on these monobloc tails, you may strike lucky. I've got a fair few in the shed, but that's probably no help. The important thing is the pipe size, not the thread so getting shot of the original tails was a big mistake....

You wouldn't have a time machine in that shed? You could pop round to mine a fortnight ago and say "I wouldn't chuck them mate. Now you owe me a pint, I'll explain later" rotate

I had a very similar problem when replacing the plumbing on my sister's sink. IIRC there's a 14mm thread too, B&Q (which I often think is the DIY equivalent of Halfrauds!) were actually very useful and had quite a selection of flexis. Best to try a decent plumbers if there's one near you but don't completely discount B&Q, they may be able to help!

New monobloc/taps? Might be simpler and quicker.
