I have a pension that I have been paying into for a few years but I have lost all confidence in the pension system and want to release the funds to stick them into a high interest savings account,

I have already called the pension company and they have said the only thing i can do is transfer it to another pension. . .

Is there a way of getting it out?

afaik, you can only withdraw within the first 2 years on the pension. after that, you can only move it elsewhere.

maybe wrong but i was considering it as i needed cash a few years back. was told i couldn't, and am rather glad about that now as my employer contributions have been upped to 12%.

Take a look at SIPS.

Gives you more freedom to pick an investment structure that is right for you.

Just look for one with a suitable structure.
