Always a good afternoon radio session with Steve Wright.

Who's your favourite current radio DJ or who do you go all nostalgic over?

Certainly not Steve Wright.

Any male DJ who includes astrology in his programme content is way down my respect list.

Listening to Simon Mayo interviewing Joan Rivers on Radio 5 at the moment. Mayo is a lot brighter and intelligent than Wright.

Steve Wright makes my teeth itch slightly less than Chris Evans.

Last week on Radio 2 was actually quite good with Ken Bruce, Steve Wright and Chris Evans all off, all of their replacements were much more entertaining. (IMO)

The only good thing about his show is Ask Elvis and the traffic reports.

He is a bit tooooo nice and sweet to everyone. I hate that word used in that context "sweet" but there we are.

Now then, 14:00 R4. No that is quality..........

There's no one better than Danny Baker, but I like Mark Radcliffe too.

Steve Wright was OKish about 25 years ago, he's still far better than Chris Evans.

Adam and Joe always make laugh, their not on as often as the should be.

I detest Steve Wright. I just find everything about him annoying, don't ask me why.

Come to think of it there aren't many radio presenters I do like and I rarely listen to the radio.

It's the playlist which keeps me listening to Steve Wright and I certainly agree that Mark Radcliffe in the same slot is even better.

Steve Wright winds me up from the very first thing he says.

"August twenty-seven, two thousand eight." rage

Mark and Lard should be given that show immediately, although I'm with Eric Mc on enjoying Simon Mayo more than anything else currently on at the same time.

And everyone who ever writes in says 'Love the show, Steve'. No they fking don't, it just your way of creeping to the BBC's brass, you prick. Now, piss off and take your 'posse' with you, you .

Agree with other poster about Danny Baker though. He might be an acquired taste, but a top broadcaster. His All Day Breakfast Show podcasts were legendary.

Steve Wright is a genius. He has successfully managed to repeat the exact same show every day for the best part of 3 decades without attracting any attention (or many listeners, I imagine). Some of my personal highlights:

- the sycophantic applause from his team of moronic co-presenters. One can only assume that noshing him off under the desk is part of the job description

- the inane banter with the traffic woman. Steve, she really doesn't want your taut body.

- the "all content is copyright" warning at the end of the show. As if anyone would steal it.

- the re-use of the same "characters" such as the old woman, ad nauseum

Wogan often jokes about "both his listeners" - well on that basis he has twice as many as Wright deserves to have.

Certainly not Ricky Disco aka Steve Wright.

Can't he die or something just as bad? Relegated to Weddings and Birthdays. I think it's a few years overdue.

Less popular than Gary Glitter. What a great epitaph that would be for him.

Fair enough - but the thread question was who is or was your favourite DJ. I didn't say he was mine - his show starting (and I the music he plays I enjoy for afternoon listening) prompted the thread question.

Or are you incapable of creating positive posts?

He certainly does look like he spends weekends with Gary Glitter too.

My favorite show is actually Colin Murray on Radio1.
