I was speaking to a mate on the phone who is a chauffeur in London. He gets his car valeted daily. He pulled up, and 3 of the 4 guys who were valeting another car came running over to his car to help finish work on his car first.

The chap from the other car comes over and asks why he is getting the special attention, and starts complaining that he has an MOT to go to, and was pissed off... What made the conversation so funny was the fact that the other chap thought he would fail his MOT if his car wasnt clean Hard to believe I know, but true

I always make a point of cleaning and polishing my car before an MOT. It can't hurt to let the tester know that you look after your car...

He has a point. If it's too dirty, they can refuse to test it. 25 year old Land Rovers etc can't go to the MOT bay covered in mud because the tester won't be able to see the holes in the chassis or rusty brake pipes and will refuse to even start the test.

Getting the van MOT'd at the moment - still covered in graffiti from the Naples trip! It failed yesterday because the chassis rail at the front is badly corroded and so it needs some welding work. And there's me thinking I was driving a Transit, not a TVR!

Ahh haa, that makes more sense now. Where there is an angry man there is usually a valid reason for his anger. Or a woman.
