So many to choose from. The worst must be the redneck club I went to in Florida though. I turned up expecting, and dressed for, Fabric. The stick I got from the straw-chewing rednecks was impressive.

Theres one in Bideford in Devon that around 2000 cost 50p to get into.

Still makes me chuckle even now.

Filled to the rafters with lots of people who evidently, from their style of dancing, couldnt quite count to four.

I'll nominate "Big Fellas" / Shadows in Pontefract from my own limited experience. A total dive packed to the rafters with tattoed pikeys and women built like bulgarian shot putters. Also legendary for it's unbelievably sticky carpets too.

Apparently my old local nightclub. I've never been and it's closed now, but it was a dive by all accounts.

I went to a club in Deal a few years back. It may have been in a hotel??

Anyway, full of swampdonkeys and people so inbred that they made the Cornish appear genetically sound.

Oh, and there's a really dire one in St Albans called 'Billabong' or 'Boomerangs' or something. Really bad.

No, thats still open, but I've never been there either. Quite the dive too I believe. I was referring to Good Time Charlies at the St. Lawrence Hotel in Howth .

I was just about to post that one too ! - so absolutely awful it was funny , went there a few years ago. The "podium" dancers weren't much better than those on the dance floor either.

Oh, and the George IV in Brixton. More of a pub that hosts a rave at about 6am on sat and sun, but bloody hell. It's like Night of the Living Dead in there

Brazingamens (sp) in Alderly Edge (prior to it being done up), bizarre mix of pissed up chavs downstairs, and 40 something divorcees upstairs with gold digging strumpet hangers on. Highly entertaining if approached with the right attitude
