Every single review I've read of this movie has slated it.

Why then have I had two hours of such fun watching it ??

Was it the relentless hilarious gore??

Was it the quite convincing effects (much better than the first crap movie)?

Was it the intense action sequences?

No (though they were all good)....it was Kate Beckinsale looking absolutely unbelievably stunning in that tight

rubber shiny suit.

Wow.! Even when something violent wasn't happening (which wasn't often) the light caught her "toight"

outline and you could see all the guys grinning in EVERY scene!!

And to top it all SHE GOT HER KIT OFF!!!( not fully of course, but it was a top, top unexpected bonus!!!)

Apologies for the whiff of sexism in this post

Big thumbs up!

BTW if you do see it and dont like it , I think you must be a homosexual.

Do you like films where girls kick ass?

Did you like Equilibrium?

Kurt Wimmer's new film <---

Argh, How cool does that film look? I soo want to see it!!

There is also a clip floating around (which i can't post) of the roof top fight with Milla Jovovich dodging bullets to the matrix music which looks fecking awesome!

I know where your coming from PP

Take the Fantastic Four for instance, your brain tells you it's complete cr*p. But it has some good action sequences and while your waiting for them there's Jessica Alba to look at (she even strips off to her undies at one point)

Resident evil 1 was cool, but not even she could make watching RE2 worthwhile.

People slated the original movie "Underworld" too. I thought it was great - and not just for the ever lovely Ms Beckinsale in her tight leather outfit.

I liked the Britishness of the movie - Beckinsale, Nighy etc. I liked the original take on a well worn story idea. I liked the way it mixed aspects of Romeo and Juliet with Dracula.

Marvellous.

Looking forward to "Evolution". No spoilers please.

I'd like to see Underworld Evolution, but the missus hasn't forgiven me for taking her to see Sin City yet (she's not into blood, gore and violence).

Edit: Don - when are you seeing it?

You can often see their point. Yes I like some mindless action at times, but the great films are those that do the action well and everything else as well.

I have rarely disagreed with the critic’s opinion of films; it's just that I can enjoy them sometimes while knowing they are rubbish.

i agree, the film was good, the story was good but Kate in the catsuit made the film.

true, but the critics sometimes seems so scared of going against the general consensus so as not to appear untrendy, that they slag films off which would otherwise have performed better at the box office.

Which is why I quite like Johnathan Ross.

Underworld Evo does retain its Britishness though (one one american in the whole movie), but this time the production is far far slicker.

I am amazed that after the first one flopped, thye managed to raise the budget for the second movie.

Another cool thing is that the story start virtually from the end of the first with all the same actors.

Big fan of Kate's. Bigger fan of Kate in that outfit. Can't wait to see the film. Your concise review has redoubled my interest, PeterPeter. Sounds like good entertainment for money. Don't give me a message in a film. Just suspend my disbelief and entertain me. Babes like Kate in black latex and leather are just a bonus!

We too watched this last Sunday, and it was perfect mindless, well produced fun, I lapped it up! The first one flopped at the cinema, but it did REALLY well when released on DVD - I think there's even a special extended 'Directors cut' just released of the first one too.

(Equilibrium was a very pleasant surprise, highly enjoyable!)

Not sure, mate, I'm afraid I've not been well this last week. Got a headache last Sunday which still hasn't gone and a range of new, unpleasant symptoms with a fever today. Been working short days and not very effectively this last week...

So not anytime soon, that's for sure...
