Did anyone watch this episode last night? Fascinating stuff, i never realised animals of such simplicity could show such amazing intelligence. Not quite the same without Attenborough mind you, but top notch photography and research. One of the few things on the beeb which justify the license.

Was that the ants? I tried to watch it but the missus didn't like the creepy crawlies and I got vetoed. I watched a nice programme about orphaned elephants and a short about stoats. Animals are one of the only things worth watching on TV I reckon.

Yep it was frikkin awesome, its hard to beleive they way the build those bridges out of some ants and other ands run over them - how do some ants suddenly decide to stop there and be part of the bridge? And the attacking/retreating biz, again how to they co-ordinate and decide what to do?

Couldnt help feeling sorry for that crab though, they were swarming all over him for ages and found that tiny soft spot at the leg joint, then ate him from the inside

The slug aswell.. they figured out how to absorb the slugs mucus by bringing in dry soil to absorb it.. how on earth did they know that?

Ive seen huge soldier ants like that before, in borneo, they were as big as my thumb!

We actually had just setup the ant aquarium yesterday evening. Turned the box on, and a program about ants. Cool.

Our ants, Day 1. Hiding in corners and not doing much.

You can use the ant farm to compost food waste, very socially responsible.

Edited because you don't spell resonsiblee like this.

With only about 30 ants, that could take some time...

Hmmm, I guess it could. Probably be better if you just teach them to take the rubbish out instead.
