If it's already been asked, delete me.

England play Paraguay on the afternoon of Saturday 10th June. Anybody know if it's going to be on the big screens at Silverstone? Or anywhere else on circuit?

'Tis a tragic clash! Whoever brought the British GP forward during the World Cup Finals? I ask you.

I dunno, but some bugger thought it would be a good idea to move the start of a 24 hour race for a game of football...

Looks like i'll be missing the football then. Although hopefully it would be an evening kick off so by the time the race has finished everyone woulde be able to get home or to nearest pub to watch it on tv.

I'd have thought so. Was at Ascot a couple of years ago and they showed the England game on the screens. Shame it was Ladies Day, the guys were glued to the screens for a few hours and there were a few strops thrown

...and you would complain then no doubt... Once every four years... Sometimes I think some people just like to moan as they have nothing better to do. Football.. You need to subscribe to watch it, and major competition is once every 2 years.. (Euro's, and WC). If you think there is too much on TV then you need to switch to a non-subscription channel.

Given that its a 14:00 kick off in Germany, and them being one hour ahead it'll clash with qualifying won't it ?

The GP was moved to avoid the final stages of the World Cup (they could make a six week gap in the schedule). Last I heard, Silverstone was preparing for the possibility of screening a match, if relevant and necessary. So if England are playing, I suspect they would try to do it, but only if the match starts after the circuit has closed. Details will probably only come out in the last few days beforehand.

Got an e-mail back from Silverstone saying there were looking at the licencing implications. I think the kick off is 15.00 Europe, 14.00 BST.

Doesn't sound hopeful. I was hoping to be sat in front of the Fosters van, watching England wack a few in.

Yup. How crap is that. Move the greatest motor race in history so that 22 pansies can parade around a field chasing a bladder and feel eachother up for 90 minutes.

If soccer is on ITV, they'll have the option of seitching the qualyfying to ITV2.

The qualifying is a knock out type affair this year though? I wonder how that'll work TV wise. May just be highlights in the evening? (about 1 am )

That's what they said. Dunno if it's different when tranmitted to a crowd on a big screen

...or maybe they ain't got a telly licence?

Would love to see the TV detector vans doing a lap of Silverstone

Oh my aching sides....that's such an original analogy.

..and as for 'greatest motor race'.......
