At least semi serious answer please!
I just cant seem to get out of bed in the morning, I have 3 alarms and always have at least 3 snooze options on them. Its not I'm a heavy sleeper quite the opposite it just takes me so long to wake up and get up.

Any suggestions?

serious suggestion believe it or not, drink lots of water before you go to sleep, as long as you've not got a weak bladder, when the alarm goes off you will realise you have massive bladder pain and it will force you to get out of bed.

Go to bed earlier. Sleep with a window open. Ensure you are fully relaxed before sleeping, in order to improve the quality of sleep. No food or caffeinated drinks for a couple of hours before hand. Establish a routine and don't work right up till it's time for bed.

If you're really struggling, go to the quack; sleep apnea (Google it; it's basically where you stop breathing for a few seconds, then make a large snorty noise) can ruin the quality of your sleep, and can be rectified by a little pump and nose-mask thing that keeps your air passages open.

You can have as many alarms as you like, but the best thing of all is to get a good night's sleep, which is what I'm betting that you're missing.

Put at least one on the other side of your room so you have to get up to switch it off. That's what I do!

Defo agree with the drinking water. I have found that when I do my weights before bed I find it a lot easier to get up in the morning. But then thats just me lol...

When you work it out, can you lt my missus know please. I'm sick of having to take responsibility to get her out of bed even when I have a day off.

I too have so much trouble trying to get up in the morning always have.
Even this morning I knew I had to get up and ready and take my dog for a walk and get him to the vets for 9am and at 8.20am I am still lying there half asleep/half awake thinking just another 5 minutes.
Then I leave it so late I rush around like a lunatic panicking.

My life is like that Radiohead song with the words - " You do it to yourself you do."

I don`t feel normal if I have to get up before 9am. I think we all have different body clocks but that doesnt really help you with your problem.

Only suggestion take 2 Nytol and a glass of wine at 9pm and hope to be asleep by 10pm.

Have something to get up for.

Girls count as bonus , generally this is the job. Sluggish in the morning can be the first sign of "just another day" seting in. Sometimes the body knows before the mind.

Arrange for the missus or girlfriend (ideally both) to perform a BJ when the alarm goes off. That'll wake you up.

I've suggested it myself but to no avail.

An old army colleague used the old "banging your head on the pillow " technique.

I`ll explain, .. if you wish to get up at seven , bang your head seven times on the pillow when you get into bed .

He swore by this and was never late for work.

Cheers and good luck.

I was up your way today seeing my accountant, thats a bloody nice wall out the front of your place

As for the getting up in the morning, keep a copy of Fiesta under your mattress and give your heart a "Jump Start" in the morning.

Edited to say that second bit wasnt meant for you shoebag

Sneak into your your sister's/cousin's/aunt's/total stranger's bed.

Their screams in the morning will wake you up no problem.

I hate mornings too.

I would recommend Radio 2, Sarah Kennedy. She talks a load of boring old crap and her voice is so intensely irritating that I can't sleep through it so I get up to get away from her.

You could always put the alarm clock on the other side of the room so you have to get up to turn it off.

Assuming you don’t have a phone by the bed. Set up a BT alarm call. E.g *55 0630 *

This is a very good idea, but you might find you get through quite a few radios - they don't tend to bounce...

have you tried setting a timer on a light so that it comes on a short while before your alarm? your body will begin to wake up a bit so that when your alarm goes off you might be more in the mood to get up.
