Does any of you do Sudoku´s??? Great fun when you have time to kill...
That's all there is to it.

There's no math involved.
The grid has numbers, but
nothing has to add up to anything else.
You solve the puzzle with reasoning
and logic.

It's fun. It's challenging. It's addictive!

because its a waste of time, doesn't further my vocabulary or knowledge and is very addictive! But a good way to kill time - its just time is too precious to me at the moment to waste!

I love it! I also love crosswords and other puzzles, but Sudoku is the most addictive. I could give up whenever I wanted.....

I got the daily desk calender for Christmas... I can do all the easy one's pretty much straight away, however I don't seem to be able to get my head around all the others. I just get stuck there doesn't seem to be anyway to logically tell which number must be next?

Any tips?

I've tried looking along the rows and columns and in the squares etc but there always seems to be a choice of at least two numbers and I can't figure out which one - do you just guess and follow on from that one untill you know your right or wrong?

I think it´s pure logic..One step at a time and you get better like in every game..or puzzle. Just takes patience.

You can look for two pairs. So if you have two places a 5 can be in the same block, row or column and there is a 7 in the same two places then you can elimate any other 5s and 7s in the same row or column. You can normally get rid of a few options like this when you are out of options.

Next step is to go through each cell and see what could be there. You should eventually find a cell that can only have one number in it.

Then go back through the rows and columns.

Hope that makes some sort of sense. Might help to have a half finished one in front of you.

I thought I was getting quite good at them, then my gf bought a News of the World on Sunday (due to lack of higher class bigoted crud I hasn't to add ) and so I naturally scorned the suduko in it expecting to breeze through it. I gave up after getting 2 numbers after 20 minutes, arse!

Thought I'd share

Cheers,
Rob

ah, but these logic puzzles are a work out for the brain... bit like the old grey matter going down the gym and pumping iron, so definitely not a waste of time.
