Ok, trying to get a surprise for the gf. She absolutely loves the programme where the two women (Trinny & Suzannah, I think) basically give someone a complete makeover, clothes, hair make-up etc.
I thought it might be quite nice to get something like this for her. Was thinking of someone drgging her around the West end for the day, telling her what to buy etc, etc followed by hair and a make-up "session".

Does anyone know of such a person/place in the London/Essex area? I've tried to google it, but can't see anything suitable.

Cheers.

So you're saying to her the clothes she wears and the way she does her hair and makeup are all wrong.

I'll attend your funeral.

I think some of the big west end department stores like Harrods or Selfridges might offer such a service. Probably comes without the personal abuse that Trinny and Wotnot offer as well

I doubt there'll be enough left to bury.

A well meaning gift that could and probably will be entirely misunderstood.

On Trinny and Suzanna though, if you could mould both of them into one person, she'd be lovely...

Selfridges have the ultimate jeans thingy where they some digital magickry and find the best pair of jeans for you.

Harvey Nicks has a personal shopper too and you wont get all the tourists like harrods

I think it's a lovely idea (assuming you're giving her an amount to spend??) but I think the potential for it being misundersood is HUGE!!

I've used personal shopping in the past and it's good fun and quite enlightening! It can also save you money as you're less likely to impulse shop on rubbish that lives at the back of the wardrobe with the label still on it (admit it girls we've all got stuff there!!)

Most of the big stores do personal shopping - personally I'd go Harvey Nicks or Selfridges rather than Harrods as it's likely to be more practical. If you're budget is lower Debenhams have a good personal shopping service and their Designer ranges are good these days for cheap and cheerful fashion.

D'ya want to pick your funeral music now!!

No, No, No....I'm far too experianced to say that...This is what she wants..Probably some kinda mid-life, but she wants a complete change, and quite frankly, she's wasting her time asking me!!

Did she say that's what she wants, or did she just make comments when watching the programme? You see, I like that 'how clean is your house' programme, but I don't think I'd be very chuffed if Paul arranged for them to pop round and run their cotton buds round my house.

I've just thought of something else useful (it's a first for today!) there are independent personal shoppers that will come to your home and look at what you've got in your wardrobe and help you work out what else you need to achieve the look you want to achieve.

Because they are on a fixed fee they in theory don't have much interest in how much you spend on new clothes. They will then take you shopping at a range of stores to get what you need.

But I think you're in danger of rudegirl's point that whilst I like personal shopping - I'd go balistic if Happy Snapper arranged for someone to come and check out my wardrobe!!

I think you need to decide a budget you are willing to spend, and then look for a personal shopper........

Assuming, of course, that you are going to be PAYING for the clothes/make-up etc that will be bought on the shopping trip??
