Back end of last year ordered some game software off Amazon, nothing urgent, just a vv good price.

Couldn't be delivered before Christmas, No problem really.

Then order delayed by two weeks.

Now order further delayed by 4-6 weeks. Thing is Amazon still saying it is in stock.

Is this a ploy to brass me off and make me cancel the order?

Should I just hang in there? Or any known ploys to get them to extract their digits?

Some one else on here had a similar story a week or so back , sounds like they cocked up the price on the site and are trying to wriggle out of it

It was me. I ordered a boxed set of DVDs at £59.99 on December 2nd. They kept pushing the delivery date forward - then cancelled it about a week into January saying "we cannot supply the item you want". On the same day it was being advertised on their site for £139.99, but they said this advert for an "external source" or somesuch.

I was annoyed because I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that they had known all through December that they could not get the item at the original price so just waited for me to cancel the order. If I had known the goods weren't coming at all I could have made other arrangments as it was a Christmas present.
