And it's a right Bu$$er as it's under the corner of the top eyelid.
I'm using Brolene eyedrops but even with my head right back it's almost impossible to apply on the affected area.
Any ideas for treatment that don't involve seeing the doctor? Just got a disciplinary at work for going sick twice last year for genuine reasons.
Thanks

I hold a damp tea-bag to the affected eye. Bit of a 'country remedy' but it seems to work.

I would go to your HR department or manager or whatever and ask that he administers suitable treatment as you are afraid to go to the doctor.

Brolene is the stuff. Try a handstand when putting it in, failing that get someone to help.

I understand that if you ruba gold ring onto it, it will cure it.

John.

p.s. sounds a little strange to me to be honest

Brolene also do a gel which is a bit easier to apply. I tend to put it under my lower eyelid and let the blinking distribute it around a bit. They normally clear up in a day or two.

I still seem to get styes every now and then even though I try to keep my hands clean when using my contact lenses.

It probably isn't a stye. If it's under the lid, in the corner, it's more likely to be a chalazion, which is a lump of waxy material that accumulates in a blocked duct, inside your eyelid.

The treatments are 2 fold.

1) conservative treaments, ie use a warm flannel, rest in on your eyelid for a few minutes, then massage the lump with a finger tip. The lump will go away eventually, but it takes a long time, a few weeks sometimes. The heat helps to melt the waxy material in the lump, massaging it may allow for the lump to discharge.

2) a small operation to make a cut on the inside of the lump, then spoon out the waxy stuff, under local anaesthetic, which can be done at your local eye department.

Brolene won't help. Go and see your doctor and ask him/her to refer you.

Make a cup of tea, save teabag.

Sit down, put (still warm) teabag on the bad eye and hold.

Drink tea

It helps, honest!!

(But then a cup of tea helps everything............)

I wouldn't try chanel parfum in your eye - that might sting a bit.

Yeah i was afraid of this!
WARNING! if you have an ailment, NEVER look it up on the net. You'll be dead and burried before you know it
Think i'll try the flannel and continjue with the liquid gold for a few days. If it gets worse i'll have to book an appt with the doc as i have sun/mon off.
Didn't want to massage it too much as i don't want to spread any infection or worse, scratch my eye somehow.

Realy?, what is it?, is it specific to treatment of styes?
Are we talking tommy hillfinger prices or HAI Karate?

Its for styes and the like.. its about 5 or 6 quid for the worlds smallest tube but the relief it brings is worth every penny and you only need about 5 -6 small applications for a stye free eye.. As its ointment you put it on your bottom lid and blink.. hey-presto it on the top lid and no need for hand stands or outside assistance!!! RESULT
