I sold something on eBay a while ago to someone in the US and they sent me a Money Order in late November. My bank has basically balled it up and not recognised the payment until now, meaning that six weeks after the aution ending can I send them the goods.

Their sarcastic email to me a minute ago:

>we are very lucky you are using such a great bank in the uk.
>it is encouraging that they were able to snap into action and find
>the transaction .why did they tell you that it had to go back for
>negotiation.do you think that i deserve some compensation for their
>mishandling of this matter.after all the money was paid 37 days ago
>and i was deprived of my goods when i ought to have received them by
>mid december.
>please advise

Talk about re-affirming a sterotype about the US and their compensation crazy culture. The minute I told them that someone else was to blame they saw dollar signs.

All I gave them was the main bank number. Lets see how they get on with the crappy UK customer services and automated telephone lines.

An american bemoaning the UK banking system?

I've heard it all now...

Their banks are, without exception, utterly utterly utterly archaic.
