Guys I've just seen this Zenith (the one I've seen has a blue ostrich strap though) at a reputable jewellers for a good price, the watch is brand new and has all the paper work, warranty's etc to go with it....now I've got my eyes set on this Navitimer which i was on going to buy when I get a chance....Opines please, I've always loved the Zenith's and also the Navitimer is a lovely bit of kit......

I'd go for the Navitimer personally. Someone will be along in a sec to say that Breitlings aren't as good, but I think it's a lovely watch.

Though what you really want is a Heuer Monaco. I found one in my Christmas stocking

Personally i'd go for the Breitling. That, or an Omega.

Zenith is a more highly regarded, but less well known name if that counts for you.

Don't Zenith supply Rolex with movements for their watches?

The Navitimer is a gorgeous watch. Will get one at some point. You can't go wrong with either in my opinion.

Ahh a watch thread. I have a 1950s Breitling Navigator. Father bought it in the air force for fifty quid. Sort of present for himself when he started flying. An absolute fortune in those days apparently. Anyone know what it should be insured for now?

Although I've always had a hankering for a Navitimer I'd go with a Zenith. Better regarded movement and I've met too many people with Breitlings that have gone wrong (not necessarily Navitimers but Breitlings all the same).

Greg, until about 6 years ago Zenith used to provided the movement for the Rolex Daytona. Recent Daytonas have an in house Rolex movement.

(sorry for the lack of smilies on my original post - no offence intended if you wear an overpriced, half baked floor tile for a watch )

Go for the bottom one, because the top one's a minute slow!

I'm sorry but they both look like they could have come out of Ratners if you ask me.

Me, I'd go for the Zenith. However... I rather fancy a Jaeger le Coultre master Compressor at the moment. My only worry is that they do seem rather large and I only have thin wrists (a sign of good breeding they say ) So... are they really that big? The web site says 41mm. What is it with this fashion for huge watches at the moment? Rich...
