Remember that news story last year, which said, 'reproductive cloning' or something like that, could enable a womans egg to be fertilized without sperm, so to make a baby?

well ive been wondering if theres a flaw in the theory, for tho i'm no expert, i'd have thought a gene pool halved by 50% would lead to eventual mutations in new-borns, thus casuing their infertility, deformaties or still births in a future time?

ive looked about this on the www but come up with little info on drawbacks.

see i just figured they'd be catch as it seems a too simple solution to male infertility.

so any here know the facts about this idea?

ps- i'm not pro or anti this affair, just curious.

A lot of women seem to be turning into blokes anyway.

As long as there's a few left to do the lapdancing and housework ....

Not necessarily, but I can't see the practise being as much fun without us (at least I for one would like to keep hold of the illusion)

ahem, aren't these guys missing the point, in that why would women do lap-dancing etc if theres no men existant on planet earth for them to do such things?

Women have an overwhelming natural urge to do things like cooking, cleaning ironing etc, i mean.. a car was designed to be driven, not much use if its not used for its designed purpose is there!

Right.. i'll be hiding then

Nuclear cell transfer is the technique you're referring to VLC. Take a donor egg, remove the DNA, replace it with DNA from a cell from eg. VLC's skin (but could use a woman's cell), zap the egg containing its new DNA with electricity, and hopefully 'activation' will happen and the egg will start dividing. Implant it in a womb and 9 months later a cloned VLC will pop out. Sperm not needed. Animals born so far but not (yet) humans.
Cheers!

is that coz it wont work with homosapiens or its banned.
as for the alternate cell dna source, i wonder if that has limitations tho?

an here's something odd i heard about it today, where a guy told me that if the dna material is from 2 women then their offspring will always female - true tho?

I once seriously proposed that to a "sperm bank" in Newcastle whilst at uni, I figured out that I could earn £40K with big holidays if I could hack 10 wanks a day They would provide the filth, I would come in with my hands bandaged every few weeks and wearing a blindfold for kicks! They told me to sod off.

It was something to do with immature sperm! The tasty bird thought it was all very funny and I had a moment of mortality as I contemplated asking her if she wanted to see a demonstration.

(I am partially joking!)
