Morning all.. I use a SE P900 with vodafone (not PAYG) and usually dont have any problems, but i seem unable to recieve MMS messages from one person. Sadly I dont know right know which network they are on, although i do believe it to be a PAYG service, if that makes any difference. The problem seems to be that rather than an MMS going straight to my inbox (as do all my others) this asks me to retrieve the message. It starts downloading and shows 39pc, the 100pc, then says "download failed" and "unknown error" (v. helpful huh?).

I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has ever had this problem I would be grateful for any info, as I've trawled the web, and can find reference to it - but no solution..

many thanks

Spence

Hi Spencer,

Do you know whether the sender is creating/sending the message on a phone?

This sounds like a WAP Push message that is created in a format that your 'phone can't handle.

What is the file extension of the URL that you get?

rgds.

hi - i believe they are just normal MMS (picture only, no videoa, no text) created on a mobile. I'll try and find out whihc service provider/ mobile it is. I dont see any urls or anything, i get an entry in my inbox as if its a normal message, and then it starts downloading when i click on it.

Cheers for your help

Find out what message settings they're using - the picture could be too big for your phone.

I can't send anything over 100kb on my mobile, but I'm sure others can.
