Got this tune running through my head, can't identiy it and it's driving me mad. Obviously tricky to describe in words, but... I think it's a 70's song, got a flute thing going on, and the hook goes something like d b, d b, c, ee, e - dah da, dah da, da, da-da, da

If anybody gets this I will be amazed and awed!

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like Mike Oldfield's 'In Dulci Jubilo'
Try here for a midi soundfile of the song - ignore the poor quality!

hope this helps

Two biggest contenders have to be Focus or Jethro Tull

Well now that you've shot down James Galway/John Denver.....

...although why John Denver was shot down is another song - probably not Annie's....

Cheers guys. It's not Mouldy Old Dough either. Got more of a Who/ XTC feel, quite high pitched vocals. I can hear the tune clearly in my head, but none of the words!

OK - it's bugging me now!
Is the hook played on the flute? Or is the flute in the backgound?
And in your initial post you put d b, d b etc - are they the approximate notes that are being played or just the way they sound as you sing along?
Been sat here with my guitar trying to work it out

The only tunes I can think of with flutes in apart from the odd irish jig are from "Peter and the Wolf"?
