What did you all get up to then ?
I'll start:

Decided to be a boring fart and do nothing / maybe a quiet drink with an old mate........then at 5pm got a phone call from said mate who said he was going into town (fancy dress BEDLEM - Bideford in North Devon - the one night of the year when a small uninteresting town becomes INSANE)... would I like to go too?

No costume, no transport, no time....

Made a remarkable 'redneck' costume out of nothing, partner made a 'baby' costume out of thermals, pyjamas and a teddy!

Loaded the 4x4 with booze and drove to his house...........

Sloshed by 8
Went to another mates house en route at 10
Joined THOUSANDS of others on the quayside at 11 (town shuts down for this)
Bumped into my sister and her boyfriend (!!) at 11.30!
12 midnight - drunk, happy (see loadsa mates) partner on one arm sister on other!!
Fireworks
More booze.....
In bed at 4am this morning.

One of the best!!

Decided to stay sober and go up the big hill overlooking Bolton to watch the fireworks at midnight, the four of us set off and got there for 11.35, It got busy up there by midnight but it was raining, 12 o`clock came, the fireworks began, then 4 minutes later the mist came down and we could`nt see a bleeding thing.

Won`t be doing that next year.

Had my first quiet NYE. Consisted of some 'hot tub' action, dinner and watching the London fireworks on a cinema-sized screen. Ding Dong.

We were supposed to go to a house party in Nottingham but as I was packing the car my wife started throwing up . In the end we saw in the new year watching Batman Begins accompanied by a sick bowl. At least no hangover for either of us which is a change for new years day!

My mate was out in Bideford last night - believe he went dressed as Superman, hung round with a chap dressed as Batman. Maybe you saw them?

I turned up at the pub wearing a white tuxedo only to find i was the only one virtually who had dressed up even remotely, slightly over dressed but it worked.

Spent hundreds of quid, missed most of the fireworks and ripped my dinner jacket. All in all a complete success!

Oooh, I must be getting old.

I had a great time at home with my missus and daughter. After a hooooge meal cooked by both of the ladies in my life (me, lazy?) we watched a dvd (Madagascar-Christmas pressie of my daughter's) and then played a couple of board games while having Jools on the telly.

All the while a couple of bottles of Champagne were being quaffed (except for my daughter, she was happy with her pineapple juice!) by us and we went to bed happily sozzled at about 12:30.
An F.E.B. this morning and a bracing walk with the dog made it a wonderful New Year.

I'm getting more like my parents everyday.

Went out to do the 'first foot' thing and one of the neighbours invited us over to their place... first time we've spoken in 4 years! Left there about 3.20 and came back... though there was another shindig going off that I fancied crashing...
Me Julie however was the worse for several Bacardis so it was a restless night as she fought the seasickness of the mattress as it spun giddily round the bedroom.
I'd had a LARGE brandy and was out for the count
Cleared the pipes with a walk up on the Moors; snow had mostly cleared but the northerly was biting and there was more mud than a Mudd concert...

I didn't have any plans last night, indeed was ready to watch Jools on TV and call it a night, but went to see the fireworks in Newcastle at 6.

A mates plans changed so we went for a few drinks in town with a few of his friends and ended up spending a fantastic, quiet evening together. From what I saw, Newcastle was pretty much deserted and the pubs we were in are busier mid week than last night which was odd.

Either way, it's the best NYE I've ever had - made all the better by not having to work today (first time in 3 years). Unfortunately, I'm at work tomorrow though

Went to the village pub, got absolutely shitfaced and decided to take mums car rallying around some forestry tracks, lost it bigstyle and ended up doing a drunken suspension rebuild in the dark. Heard the fireworks go off as I was jacking a tie rod straight. She's none the wiser allthough I reckon I've got a bit of tow in now Seems to drive ok and ain't crabbing!

I am aware that drink driving is stupid but all the potential victims were miles away. We weren't going fast enough to do any proper damage (ie:- kill ourselves). It was just a stupid idea which seemed great at the time, I won't do it again.

Hmmmm.....spent it in Vienna.....started with a house party until 11.45pm getting thoroughly pissed out of my skull playing around with an assortment of SLR's taking lots of photos and breaking my friends Windows Media Centre TV thingy (which is pretty cool).

Then at just before midnight ran down to 1516 and met up with girlfriend working at the bar which was very entertaining.

However.....the night ended on a bit of a downer as my housemates girlfriend had her drink spiked and she collapsed into unconciousness in the toilets so an ambulance had to be called. Not good. She spent the night at hospital and is now recovering slowly back home.

I did however manage to spend the rest of the evening at the bar until 6.30am in the morning and finally got to bed at 7.30am.

Definately one we won't forget in a hurry!

Working, so didn't have a drink at all.

Fancy dress at our place as well, although I think I may take it a bit far. There were a few sexy nurses out but none quite like me behind the bar in white dress and fishnets and a red garter.

One or two of the rugby lads in there, but they were all dressed as women as well (although I was the only one to have shaved my legs)

First new year as a single man in 5 years-4 decent snogs around midnight
