I've just done the yearly 'creap around'. Our kids have so much stuff it's untrue!

I did some quick sums, and it's frightening:

We've got four kids, and each has on average, I guess at least ten presents - just from Mum, Dad and Santa. As many again from friends and relatives. So that's 20 X 4 = 80. Then it's twice a year (Christmas and birthdays) = 160 per annum. My eldest is 15 and my youngest is 7. A bit of rough mental arithmatic and I reckon over this period it must be over 2000 presents! No wonder our house is full of crap!

Cheer up you Grumpy Old Git

I got slated the other day for lacking christmas spirit, but I love buying presents for children.

Apart from my wife I have spent the most money this christmas on presents for my wife's niece who I have only met a couple of times.

As my friend and I discussed when she bought 4 gig Ipods for her 11 year old twin boys the other day - "it wasn't like this when we were kids - we didn't get all this stuff" BUT my wouldn't we have liked it if we had that kind of stuff

I liked the suggestion the other day (from Alexkp?) that his little girl has to sort out some toys to go to other children for Christmas.

Christmas 4 years ago, having got rid of the kids, I sold the truck I'd been using to cart them & their horses around the show jumping circuit.
I bought my self 2 Triumph TR7s.
I now have a lovely 7, to do the shopping, & a fire breathing 275 BHP 7V8, to frighten the local sheep. The car driving ones.
What, you don't like 7s? Well I do, so up yours, & a very merry
christmas to all of you.
PS. Please don't save the wrapping paper for next year.

Best thing I got was Richard Porter's "Crap Cars". It was the only thing I liked which I didn't buy for myself and say "wrpa this for me dear".

The best thing I did buy for myself was the VX220.
